HOCKEY: Redditch made it three victories in a row with a good 2-0 victory at Stourport.
Redditch tried hard to break down the Stourport defence in the first half but a lack of accuracy in their passing denied them any fluency or consistency.
At the other end, the defence looked comfortable in dealing with the home attacks, Kirsty Stafford showing particular strength.
The second half saw Redditch improve their passing game and reaped the rewards.
An early breakthrough by captain Jo Stafford from a well-worked Angela Taylor penalty corner set them on their way.
Redditch gained in confidence and pressed forward with player of the match Lianne Cooper and Becky Southwell working tirelessly in midfield. Claire Berrisford also made an encouraging debut on the right.
Redditch made the game safe when Jo Stafford scored her second with an action reply of the first.
Redditch head to Kings Heath next week.
The 2nds were beaten 2-1 at home by Bournville 3rds, Becci Butler netting the Redditch goal.
