ENGLISH College champions Cirencester were given a real run for their money when they faced Evesham's academy side in the second round of the British College Cup.
The Worcestershire champions took the game to their opponents from the first whistle only to concede the opening goal against the run of play after 25 minutes.
Shaun Stanley was denied an equaliser before the break by a fine save but Evesham were then grateful to their own last line of defence - Darren Knurek - for a series of excellent saves as Cirencester took control.
Once again, though, Evesham battled back and eventually levelled when Stanley fired in a brilliant leveller. However, a lapse at the back four minutes from time gifted the Gloucestershire side a winner that they hardly deserved.
It's Sutton Coldfield next for the losers in the third round of the English Schools Cup.
