KEEPING up the pressure on the subject of A&E at the Alex, I would like to share my recent observations.
After unfortunately breaking my leg, I spent a spell in the Alex waiting for an operation to insert a plate in my leg, this consisted of three days on and off 'nil by mouth' - frustrating to put it mildly.
This was because I was being pushed back by life-threatening cases that needed operating on before me. Don't get me wrong, I fully accept that these cases were more serious than mine.
What did shock me was a lot of these cases had come from Worcester A&E because it was too busy and it had passed them to Redditch A&E which had put Redditch, and I quote ''on red alert!'
If Worcester cannot cope now, what will it do if it gets all of the Redditch patients too?
