I WOULD like to thank the members of the public for turning out to Rubery's annual bonfire and fireworks night at the local Community and Leisure Centre - which was a very well attended and very safe evening.
Special thanks to everyone who was involved with the event, which includes the immediate committee at the centre, and their families and friends who also volunteered their help free of charge on the night.
A big thank you also to Fireworks International of Derby for a fantastic display, the DJ presenter for supplying the music, Rubery Building Supplies for its unwanted pallets for the bonfire, Sue Babb and her girls for building the guy and also running some extra stalls on the night.
Most importantly, I would like to thank Julie Kirkbride MP and also local councillors, Colin Wilson and Peter McDonald for coming along and supporting us, to ensure that a successful and safe evening was had by all.
In closing, I would like to appeal for anyone who videoed the event on camera to please let us have a copy for our archives.
You can contact the centre on 0121 453 7716 during office hours.
Again, many thanks for your continued support for the centre & hope see you all again next year.
