Woodrush 40 Camp Hill 2nds 0

FLYING wingers Ed Lerner and Ian May proved too hot to handle for Camp Hill.

The pair bagged a brace of tries apiece as the visitors were swept aside in this friendly at Forhill.

Woodrush coach had been critical of his side's inability to finish off chances but that certainly wasn't the problem at the weekend as they produced a fine running display that was the foundation for their six-try haul.

They went in at the break with an 18-0 cushion and continued to dominate the proceedings in the second half with centre Andy MacGrann scoring a double.

Lerner was making his return to the first team after more than two months away.

A hamstring injury had kept him out for six weeks before a three-match spell in the seconds saw him recapture his form.

"Ed is the quickest winger we have at the club," Elwell explained.

"With him and Ian out wide it gave us the speed we need to finish off the chances we have been creating .

"Ian came off the bench last week and played well but that now gives me a selection problem ahead of this week's match."

Elwell added he had 25 players available for the visit of Veseyians on Saturday (ko 2.30pm) - one of the first times he has been virtually free of injury worries.
