Droitwich 12 Redditch 0
TWO second half tries were enough to hand Droitwich the honours at the end of a desperately poor game of rugby.
Redditch's hopes of bouncing back from last week's disappointing league defeat at Evesham were shattered as they struggled to raise their game.
The first half was characterised by poor handling and a lack of physical commitment in the ruck and maul. Consequently both sides failed to score a single point in the first 40 minutes.
An ankle injury suffered by hooker Ben Thomas brought about some positional changes for Droitwich at half-time with one of their centres taking over in the front row.
And the home side looked a little more purposeful at the beginning of the second period half with flanker James Davis to the fore.
Their pressure bore fruit after five minutes when decent support play saw replacement Pete Denby go over in the corner for a try although the conversion was missed.
Further handling errors ensured no further score until Will Bolton scored a coolly taken try under the posts, Matt Blackmore added the extras.
