ICY conditions greeted members fishing Cobhouse Pools for the Escott Elsley Cup last weekend.
Despite the cold, all competitors caught fish with Terry Atkinson claiming top spot and the trophy with carp for a winning weight of 9.10.0.
Phil Seedhouse was second with 6.14.0 and Dunc Edgeley third (5.10.0).
There's an Open match at the Fishery on Saturday when fishing will be for five hours following the draw at 9am. All wel- come, book in on 01386 41273.
All tickets for the Bottles Galore raffle should be returned by Saturday.
The next day there's a members' only Stillwater Series and Phil Johns contest at the Fishery starting at 8am, draw at 7.45.
Evesham and District Disabled AC and Partnership's
MEMBERS met at Cranhill last Sunday for the penultimate Fiesta Cakes Autumn League match.
Rob Campden came out on top with a winning net weighing 4.12.0 to see off the challenges of Antony Icke (0.11.0), Jerry Akerman (0.8.0) and Mick Leeming (0.5.0).
There's the Fur and Feather this weekend at Jim's Lake where peg fees are £7.
Evesham Youth AC
THE opening round of the Tingle Canal Series was fished on the Parks section of the Worcester Canal last Satur-day.
The overnight frost didn't prevent the match taking place but it obviously had an effect on the sport with eight of the 20 competitors having dry nets.
Results - Juniors: 1 Bradley Proctor 1.1.8; 2 Simon Pickering (Wooffs) 0.11.0; 3 Gavin Griffiths (Wooffs). Intermediates: 1 Jonathan Baguley 0.4.0. Seniors: 1 Dave Beasley 0.6.0; =2 Claire Kinnersley, Hugh Blundstone 0.2.8.
Evesham WMC
JUBILEE Lake fished quite well and it was Stuart Robin-son who emerged victorious at the club's Fur and Feather match.
The winner netted small carp and roach on the pole and maggot to weigh in 8.14.0.
Using the same method helped Nat Protherough into second (8.0.8) and Vic Woods into third (3.6.0).
Stuarts AC's total of 46 points helped them into the semi-final of the EDAA Knockout Cup.
The next match is at Crop-thorne, draw at 7.30am.
