SIR - As a resident of Lincoln Green sheltered accommodation, I would like to ask why the ruling Conservative councillors decided that our warden was surplus to requirements.

She is a caring and compassionate person who was always available anytime. Perhaps this is the reason. I hope they are all able to sleep easy at night knowing that we elderly people (I am 84 years of age) have to rely on whoever comes round and what time they come.

I am not saying these people are not caring or properly trained, but when someone different comes every day, it does make things a little difficult. I am hoping that they will have a re-think.

MRS I CHAMBERS,

Worcester.
