Our AGM started on a sad note with a minute's silence in remembrance of Barbara Gill, chairman of the National Federation of WIs. The hall then rang to the sound of Jerusalem. Our president welcomed Rita Mitchell and Liz Rowley. The colourful flowers had been arranged by Gill Wilson and Pat Neale.

Anne Ballard gave a very informative and interesting report on the autumn covial meeting and urged members to attend these excellent days. A report on the Corbett Group meeting at Wychbold WI was read. It had been a lovely friendly afternoon and the flowers were beautiful.

Rita Mitchell presided over our AGM. Ann Randall presented the financial statement, which was formerly adopted. The annual report was read and reminded us of the many excellent and varied speakers we had welcomed over the year. In her president's report, Jenny Marsh thanked the hard working committee, with particular mention for Pat Keen who was retiring after 16 years. She spoke of our superb day at Clevedon and Tyntesfield, our visit to Hampton Court gardens and the theatre visits we had enjoyed. Jenny Marsh was re-elected president and Tricia Kenny a new committee member.

The raffle was won by Gayle May and the competition, An Autumn Leaf, by Gill Wilson. Jennifer Carter won the Annual Competition Cup. Tea was provided by Wendy Moseley and June Nicholson.
