CHILDREN at a Rubery school are set to be the shining lights of this weekend's Christmas extravaganza.
Pupils at Beaconside Primary School, in Hazel Road, have got into the festive spirit by making lanterns for Rubery's Christmas light switch-on event this Saturday.
The children will accompany Father Christmas and Councillor Jill Dyer in the traditional lantern procession. The turning on of Rubery's Christmas lights will take place at 5pm this Saturday, around the Christmas tree next to the police station in New Road.
