HEAD boy at Prince Henry's High School, Willoughby Badger, quickly got over the bitter disappointment of defeat to Kings School, Worcester in the Daily Mail Schools Cup when helping the North Midlands representative side to victory.
Still only 17 and having played in a fine win against Warwickshire U-19 earlier this month, the teenager cemented his place in the North Midlands side with a inspired display of defensive play against Mid-dlesex Under-20s.
He produced some quite fearless tackling against a very physical side, topping off his performance with a fine run from halfway only to be caught just short of the line.
However, he made the most astute of inside passes to his supporting full back who touched down under the posts to seal a 32-24 success.
Badger will be back in action aga-inst Yorkshire on Sunday.
