ASPIRING actors and actresses will soon have the chance to join a new drama group.

Bridging the Gap, for 18 to 25 year olds, is set to take Redditch by storm, offering workshops to budding drama kings and queens.

Chris Gunter, youth theatre and arts officer, said: "There are currently lots of opportunities for young people up to the age of 18 with the Palace Youth Theatre, Stage Coach and Indigo Arts but once you reach 18 the provision seems to stop.

"Why? Does your imagination cease to exit, does your soul stop craving expression? Of course not, at 18 you need drama, friends and creativity more than ever."

The group will officially launch and move to the Palace Theatre when it re-opens in spring 2006.

Workshops will include physical theatre, narration and scriptwriting, comedy and improvisation, and speech and movement exercises.

They will be held at Matchborough Community Centre on Wednesdays from 7.15-9.30pm, starting on January 11.

The season costs £40 (payable at £4 per week), starting with a taster session. For more details, contact Andy Higgitt on 514049 or Jestaminute@blueyonder.co.uk or Chris Gunter on 464005 or chris.gunter@redditchbc.gov.uk
