REDDITCH'S Thai restaurant has scooped an award which recognises it as one of the best in the Midlands.
Barn Thai, on Unicorn Hill, can boast the title of Thai Food Guide Winner 2005-6.
Owner Akil Choudhury, who also owns the Akash Indian Restaurant on Unicorn Hill, said they had entered the competition in October and received the award earlier this month after judges came to try the food.
"They said the food was good and also that the decoration in the restaurant was very authentic - the man said when he came in he felt he was somewhere in Thailand," he said.
Mr Choudhury, who opened the first Indian restaurant in the town in 1979, said Barn Thai was also celebrating its third anniversary this month, topping off the celebrations.
He added: "We are all very proud of the award and hope this will mean business gets better and better."
