THE November meeting was the AGM.
President Janet Baines welcomed members and there were no apologies for absence.
Members were informed of the sudden and untimely death of the National President, Barbara Gill.
A short press release was read and members then stood in silence for a minute.
The Warwickshire Federation representative for the evening, Ann Beaty, was introduced and the minutes of the previous annual meeting were read and approved.
The financial statement was presented by treasurer Sylvia Bending. June Escott proposed a vote of thanks to Sylvia who announced that she was stepping down as treasurer.
The secretary and president gave their annual reports, which reflected on what a busy year it had been and expressed thanks to all those members who had worked hard to support both the institute and each other during 2005.
Mrs Beaty then gave a short talk which she began by congratulating the institute on its 80 years.
Pauline Vining was elected the new president.
Marion Cargill thanked Mrs Baines for all her hard work as president.
Members then enjoyed their annual harvest supper, served by committee members.
Before the next meeting in December, members will be going to watch Christmas Capers at the Bridge Theatre in Warwick and also will be having a festive meal in Wilmcote.
The Christmas meeting will be a bring-and-share supper followed by a social time.
