NOVEMBER'S meeting was the AGM. President Ann Thurrell opened the meeting with a couple of amusing stories and then officially welcomed all members and the WIA, Janice Jones.
Reports were given, firstly by the treasurer, who presented a clear and healthy balance sheet.
The second report was the committee's annual report.
Once again members were amazed to hear how many activities, outings and joint WI meetings had been held.
Reference was made to the various walks that had taken place to recognise 90 years of the WI and holidays taken at home and abroad organised at county level.
Congratulations were given to Ann Thurrell for her first placed entry at the county craft show and to the skittles team, who finished runners-up in the county tournament.
The president then gave her annual report and thanked everybody who had given her such support throughout the past year.
Janice Jones then spoke about how resolutions progress from local to national level and all the work involved in checking legal and factual details.
The elections then took place with Doreen Springer being elected new president.
The evening ended with the committee entertaining with an amusing collection of readings and poems.
Next month, members will be joined by invited guests, friends and family to celebrate the institue's birthday.
