THE AGM in November was a busy meeting and members welcomed WI adviser Morag Ford, who came to help select the new committee and president.
One new committee member was gained and May Lloyd was re-elected president.
Names were being taken for the Christmas meal to be held at the Round of Gras at Brethforton on December 5, with a visit to Evesham Country Park first.
Members were also given the shocking news that national chairman Barbara Gill had died suddenly at the age of 63.
This had been a particularly busy year for her, promoting the WI in its 90th year.
Reports were given on the finances by treasurer Jackie Grier, the WI year by the secretary and another by the president May. Jackie Grier also gave a report of the autumn council meeting held at Stourport.
There was a stall at this year's Ecumenical Centre's Christmas Fayre on November 19.
A member who went to the town hall meeting about service cuts at the Alexandra Hospital gave a short report and as a result, the secretary will be writing to Jacqui Smith MP to voice members' dismay.
The next meeting will be the Christmas party on December 12 at 2pm and members and friends are welcome.
