CARING customers at Redditch's Morrison's supermarket have donated more than £1,500 to the Breast Cancer Campaign (BCC) during a series of in-store collections.
Collection buckets were placed in all Morrisons stores over one weekend last month, inviting customers to make a donation to BCC, Morrisons chosen charity of the year. The collection across all 390 stores in the UK raised more than £181,000, pushing the total raised by Morrisons staff and customers since the start of the current charity of the year campaign beyond £592,000.
Will Carpenter, store general manager of Morrisons Redditch, said: "The staff are overwhelmed by the generosity shown by our loyal customers to make the store one of the top ten in the UK for donations."
Morrisons shoppers can also help raise funds for BCC by purchasing a reusable charity of the year carrier bag at their local store for just 10p. All profits from the sale of the bags goes directly to the charity.
