A FORMER Redditch Advertiser reporter turned television presenter will be the guest of honour at a school presentation evening tonight.
Daniel Pallett, now a sports reporter on BBC Midlands Today, will appear at Arrow Vale High School.
He will present awards to hardworking GCSE and A-level students at the Green Sward Lane school.
The evening, which will be attended by pupils and teachers past and present, will also award students who have made the most outstanding achievements.
Mr Pallett (pictured) started his career at our sister paper, the Bromsgrove Messenger, before moving over to Redditch and then onto the Worcester Evening News.
He was invited to the school by assistant head teacher Roger Satterthwaite who met him when he visited the school while working for the Advertiser to cover a story on the European elections.
Mr Pallett returned to the school to interview Tony Blair before the 1997 elections.
Mr Satterthwaite said: "Daniel will speak to the students about working in the media and also working as a sports journalist.
''It is very appropriate for us as we are a sports college and Daniel is an excellent role model for our students."
