THE Alexandra Hospital's Memorial Garden for Babies is now "looking fabulous" thanks to the hard work of a dedicated team of volunteers.
The White Hart Garden Society recently put in a hard day's graft at the garden as part of Community Service Volunteer (CSV) Make a Difference Day.
Using generous donations from a variety of town businesses they were able to plant bulbs and shrubs, erect fencing and even install a bench.
The hospital's League of Friends group spokesman Colin Kershaw said they had wanted to improve the garden for sometime.
"Make a difference day was just the push we needed to get the ball rolling," he said.
"The CSV action desk team really inspired local people and businesses to support us and the garden's now looking fabulous.
"In fact the whole atmosphere has changed.
"We hope that the improvements will benefit the many families who use this special place."
CSV spokeswoman Sue Broome said: "Everyone has been so generous with their time and donations.
"The volunteers were absolutely brilliant.
"They worked their socks off and we really couldn't have done it without their hard work and expertise."
BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester's green-fingered experts Mike George and Reg Moule presented their show from the garden.
