UNDAUNTED by thick fog and freezing temperatures, Arden club members competed in the third race of the November Series last Sunday.
The crews of six boats took to the river and the Enterprises of Stuart and Caroline Stephen and Niall Campbell and Jane Smee took an early lead.
Officer of the day Wayne Evans had set a shortened course in respect of the light winds and, with this faint breeze favouring the lighter boats, it wasn't long before the Enter-prises were passed by the Solo of Ralph Evans and Eric Ison's Laser.
Evans maintained his lead to the finish but, as the breeze strengthened, Campbell and Smee picked up speed to finish second with Stephen edging Ison out for third place.
This Sunday is the last race of the season and members are reminded there is a Laying up Supper tomorrow night. Contact Helen for more details.
