A SHOWCASE of artistic talent from the city and beyond will be on the cards this month in a cabaret-style evening in Worcester.
The evening event - at Worcester Arts Workshop in Sansome Street, Worcester - runs on Saturday, November 26 and will feature the premiere of performance company Theatre Unlimited's short comedy sketch Sunny-side Up Caf.
Also on the bill will be powerful world drumming from the nationally-acclaimed Drum Love - a Worcester organisation specialising in African, Caribbean and Brazilian drumming. Worc-ester dance company Angel Dance Co Lab will also perform to live music and audiences will learn why it's not easy having a teacher for a mum from Worcestershire-based actress Dympna Jardine. The Volcano Comm-unity Choir is set to raise the roof with their unaccompanied harmonies while city performance artists Edward Steele-Fox and Jez Mort ponder over the unhappy existence of vacuum cleaners. And wall hangings by Zoe Coombes from Worcester will adorn the theatre wall, with the venue's caf brought to life by an art exhibition by Shelly Washbrook from Kidderminster.
Finally, Malvern-based rock band, Taxi will invite audiences to sit back and join them on their musical journey. Workshop administrator Marie Oldaker said: "The event is basically like a local platform for showcasing Worcestershire-based talent." The event runs from 7.30pm to 11pm and entry is £4. Worcester Arts Workshop is a community-focused arts education organisation.
In addition to outreach work, it runs regular events. Call 01905 21095 for details.
