DAVE Boddy insists freezing conditions should not prevent Worcester City successfully staging the money-spinning FA Cup clash with Huddersfield Town.
Bad weather once again put paid to City's latest Nationwide North fixture, as last Saturday's fixture at Alfreton Town was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
It follows the originally scheduled November 8 fixture against Redditch, now taking place on Tuesday, December 20, which was called off because of a waterlogged surface.
Despite fears that the cold, winter snap may continue for several weeks, Worcester chairman Boddy is not expecting problems hosting League One Huddersfield on Sunday, December 4, thanks to the FA's pitch protection plan.
The FA's plan involves contracting a specialist company to provide pitch covers for all televised cup games, to ensure they are not postponed. The same plan was used at Chasetown earlier this month ahead of their tie against Oldham Athletic.
City are expected to stump up £2,700 towards the costs of the covers, which are expected to be in place at St George's Lane at least 72 hours ahead of the BBC-televised showdown.
