ENTRIES have been rocketing in for the Worcester News Elton John lookalike contest.

And we're giving lucky readers another two weeks for a chance to grab a pair of tickets for the Rocket Man's Worcester gig.

It's certainly been no Sacrifice for some of his fans who have sent in snaps for the chance to join 20,000 gig-goers at Elton's concert next June.

And we've included a tasty trio today to give other budding entrants a tiny taste of the competition.

Flamboyant Sean Bowcott, of Bilford Avenue, certainly dressed up for the part. He can't have worn those specs in a good 20 years and the jacket certainly wouldn't look out of place in Las Vegas - where the real Elton has landed a multi-million concert deal.

Meanwhile, Charlie Wiggett, of Turrall Street, Barbourne, claims ladies often call him Elton when he's out and about in the Faithful City.

He's donned more sobre attire in his photograph but we're sure he'd be up for a spot of Crocodile Rock with the best of them.

And our final Elton wannabe is Nigel Peall, whose daughter Claire Wilson, of Bath Road, sent in this snap.

You've got to take your hat off to him - it looks like he's at a wedding but whether or not he got to Kiss The Bride no one has been prepared to reveal. So if anyone thinks they can match these three and capture the essence of Elton, get your pictures in by Friday, December 2.

Grab those old horn-rimmed glasses, buff up your feather boa, dust off the sequins and send your entries to: Mike Maloney, Deputy News Editoer, Worcester News, Berrows House, Hylton Road, Worcester WR2 5JX or e-mail to mm@thisisworcester. co.uk

Sorry seems to be the hardest word and unfortunately there can only be one winner.

The lucky lookalike who looks a dead ringer for the Knight of Rock will receive two tickets for Elton's two hour show at Worcester County Cricket ground, New Road, on Sunday, June 11.
