CONGRATULATIONS to Louise Poole, of Callow End, who has successfully completed a four-year degree course at Cardiff University in mechanical engineering and was awarded a masters degree with honours. Louise, who attended Callow End Primary School and the Chase High School, Malvern, is working for an engineering firm in Cardiff.
Congratulations to Linda Bywater, of Callow End, who received a BSc with honours in applied professional studies from the University of Worcester at a recent award ceremony in Worcester Cathedral.
The service of remembrance took place on Sunday afternoon at St James' Church, after a short act of remembrance at the war memorial at Callow End.
The Royal British Legion (Powick and Callow End branch) standard bearer was John Mason and a wreath of poppies was laid by Coun Tom Wells on behalf of Malvern Hills District Council.
At the service in the church, the devotions were led by The Rev. Douglas Walker, readers Trevor Barry and Bernard Blower and the organ was played by Derek Carter. After the service, members of the RBL were offered tea at The Old Bush.
