ON a bright Remembrance Sunday, 40 couples took part in a betterball medal at The Worcestershire Golf Club.
Three couples were tied at the top with a net 67 but, on the back nine, the winners were Brian and Fran Jackson-Dooley, in second place was Gordon and June Jones and in third spot Paul and Diane Meakin.
The team of Brian Brassington, Norman Bolton, Alan Boyd and Stuart Duncan won the men's yellow ball alliance on November 5 with 79 points.
One point behind in second place was Roger Blackwell, John Davies, Barry Caswell and Richard Kay.
The winners of round two of the men's winter fourball on November 12 were Nick Paul and Phil Shurmer with 46 points. Runners-up with 45 points were Charlie Curtis and Barry Schofield.
Following the new lady captain's drive-in, the team event saw Norma Pottinger, Joss Penrhyn and Jenny Butler take first place with an outstanding 59 points. In second place, with 54 points, were Jill Piner, April Wilding and Wendy Ormerod and in third place with 51 points were Cathy Harris, Frances Davies and Maureen Riley.
In an 18-hole Stableford competition, the division one winner was Kate Anderson (37pts), second was Di Meakin (36) and third Cathy Harris (35). In division two, Janet Long (39) was the winner followed by Jan Strain and Norma Pottinger. In division three, Ann Moody (38) took the top spot with Jessica Paget second and Faith Tubb third.
