MILITARY fire crews answered just three emergency calls during yesterday's firefighters' strike in the West Midlands.
Fire Brigades Union members first walked out on Monday and two further short stoppages have been scheduled for Monday and Wednesday next week.
West Midlands Fire Service has so far been unable to satisfy the union's demands for compensation for changes to working conditions following the introduction of new shift s.
More talks are scheduled.
