CLEOBURY Mortimer put in a disappointing display as they lost 3-0 at Loughborough in National Ladies Volleyball League Division Two.
They lost the first set 25-20, followed by a 25-22 defeat in the second and a 25-13 loss in the third.
As the match wore on their confidence dwindled despite a brave performance from player of the match Becki Brookes who was suffering a chest infection.
There was a better showing from Cleobury's junior girls in their first West Midlands Ladies Volleyball League Division 2 of the season - but they still lost 3-1 at Rugby.
They took the second set 28-26, but could not contend with the greater experience of their hosts in the other three sets which they lost 25-15, 25-11 and 25-14. Players of the match were Rachel Pugh and Charlotte Froggatt-Keeble.
