STOURPORT Swifts boss Roy Rencher is hoping the introduction of yet another new player will help turn the tide after admitting his team "can't buy a win at the moment".
The Walshes Meadow manager is set to hand a Southern League Division One West debut to Sam Hawker at Beaconsfield on Saturday as Swifts bid to climb off the foot of the table.
Hawker, a left-sided midfielder who was at Hednesford before a hamstring injury forced him out of the game, impressed in Stourport's 1-0 win in at Walsall Wood on Tuesday night.
Rencher used that practice match to blood a host of young triallists and after frantic transfer dealings in recent weeks he is still looking for "a few reinforcements" to complete his rebuilding.
Midfielder Ronnie Sayer could also return to the squad on Saturday after a long injury lay-off, but Danny Morgan (medial ligament tear) and Jay Powell (back) look set to be out until the turn of the year. Swifts, who blew a 2-0 lead before grabbing a last gaps equaliser to draw 3-3 with Taunton last weekend, are also in action next Tuesday when they host Worcester City in the Worcestershire Senior Cup.
"We can't seem to buy a win at the moment but I'm convinced that things will come good for us soon because we can't let things drift," added Rencher.
Alex Lavery scored a consolation as Swifts youth team lost 3-1 at home to Rugby Town in round two of the Birmingham Youth Cup.
