GOOD hearted Vale folk are joining like-minded people all over the country this week to raise cash for Children in Need.
There promises to be a hive of activity in Port Street, with traders pulling out all the stops to boost the appeal.
Superheroes will be patrolling the street with collection buckets offering to clean windscreens. There will be hundreds of pounds worth of goods to be won, entertainment and games will be provided, and the day will finish up at the Swan Inn where from 7pm people can have their heads shaved or get a wax to raise cash.
Organiser, Katie Gilbert said: "All the shops in Bengeworth will be pulling together to make this a super hero fundraising day."
At Evesham College the care students will be dressing up as Disney characters and hosting a coffee morning. Elderly residents at Heathlands care home in Pershore will be taking part in a fitness session to raise funds and children at Leapfrog Day Nursery in Evesham will be raising cash by paying £1 to turn up in pyjamas and cooking Pudsey bear biscuits. Over at Evesham High School, 13-year-old Alex McKay is helping to organise an auction during his lunchtime, and at Pinvin First School pupils will be holding a table-top sale.
Honeybourne First School children and teachers will be paying £1 each to dress up as Kings and Queens for the day and the children at Defford-cum-Besford First who have collected 1p and 2p coins all year will be laying them in the playground to count. All will be hoping to raise record amounts, and want residents to support them wholeheartedly.
