WORCESTER Men's Firsts showed no mercy at Stratford, taking advantage of a dismissal for the hosts by winning 4-0 in Coaching Solutions Midlands One.

Worcester dominated the opening exchanges and took the lead after a well-worked move by Ewan Bell was finished off by Ali Wilkinson.

An early sending-off of a Stratford player opened the game up with Chris Adams hitting two great goals.

Magnificent saves by Ben Taylor gave the opposition no hope and John Sprague added a superb individual goal.

Worcester Seconds defeated John Player 4-2 in an intense encounter as they were twice pegged back.

An early Worcester goal was quickly cancelled out and the city side grabbed a second only for Player to level again.

Tom Lewis put away a tap-in before the interval and Matt Walker added his second by nut-megging the goalkeeper. Steve Paul scored the other goal.

A young Thirds side of seven players aged under 18 produced breath-taking hockey in a 4-3 win at Nottingham.

Notts took the lead and were only denied a second by Scott Bashford's great save but M Evans equalised in the first-half.

The second period opened up with end-to-end hockey with goals from A Hares and Chris Miles putting Worcester 3-2 up.

Notts worked hard to level but Worcester dug deep and Gregor McLoud scored from a fine move involving Sam Swinbourne.

Worcester Fourths dominated at home to Leek, claiming a 5-3 victory.

A strong opening went unrewarded until the 20th minute when Tom Padden collected a rebound from a penalty corner.

Within two minutes, John Senior added another and Phil Jones picked out Tom Coleman for the third goal.

But Andy Howie fumbled twice in two minutes to give Leek two goals.

However, Jones let rip with a superb strike to regain the two-goal advantage and Padden tapped in an Andy Hadley free hit before Leek added a late third.

Worcester Sixths suffered a poor result, losing 4-1 at home to local rivals Droitwich Fourths and conceding three goals through errors. Edwards hit the target but Worcester also missed a penalty.

The Sevenths put in an excellent display to triumph 3-1 at Warwick Fifths with goals from A Hampson, Stuart West and Ian Powell.

Worcester Women's Firsts were rocked by a controversial sin-binning for Elaine Shepperd as they lost 4-3 at Southampton in English League National South.

With Jenny Wilkes and Kerry McGrath settling well on their debuts, Shepperd put Worcester ahead from Liz George's pass.

George showed great skill to bag the second from Emma Hughes' through-ball but Southampton pulled a goal back.

The hosts rallied to equalise but Worcester restored the lead through Hughes who was found by Hannah Gibbons.

A controversial decision saw Shepperd sin-binned at a crucial point and Worcester conceded a leveller and the crucial fourth.

Worcester Seconds triumphed 2-1 at Droitwich Spa, controlling the game well and scoring in the second-half through Emily Hutchinson and Kate Rochelle. Chey West also hit the post.

The Fourths started brightly at Harborne with Charlie Mills scoring twice after good work from Jenny White and Stacey Williams but they eventually lost 4-2 at Harborne.
