EVESHAM gained their first Coaching Solutions West Midlands Premier win of the season with a 4-3 victory over fellow strugglers Old Halesonians.
Despite missing several key players, Evesham started positively with Steve Miller, Mark Armstrong and Seb Seneque working tirelessly in midfield.
Kevin Jobson fired the home side ahead on 15 minutes after good right-wing work from Frank Lake and Mark Payne.
But the lead was short-lived as the visitors threw men forward and bagged an equaliser.
At half time, the Vale side took the chance to re-organise themselves and they were much tighter as the game re-started. Ricky Dore again ran his heart out in attack and scored the second from a superb Payne cross.
Within minutes, Evesham extended their lead through Payne as his strike from a short corner was deflected into the roof of the net.
However, two soft goals dragged Old Hales level with Evesham's recent lack of confidence evident and Martin Husbands, in defence for the first time, distributing erratically.
But when a Dodgson shot was stopped illegally on the line, Husbands stepped forward to calmly dispatch the penalty stroke with less than two minutes left.
Pershore were disappointed not to defeat leaders Newtown who lost their place at the top of West Midlands Two with a 2-2 draw.
They edged the opening 20 minutes with Graeme Rushin and Andy Wright strong defensively, while Anthony Handley worked hard up-front.
Pershore scored first when Garth Rushton drilled the ball across a crowded 'D' for Richard Lisle to finish at the far post. But Newtown levelled the scores after a rare mistake by the hosts.
Pershore looked the stronger in every department but it needed a double mistake to allow Russell Scudamore to fire them ahead again.
Newtown pressed hard and a scrappy move found a way past excellent goalkeeper Stuart White.
Pershore Thirds drew 2-2 at Evesham in a hotly contested derby played in a good spirit.
Gary Tucker fired Pershore ahead but Evesham were level with a penalty flick.
Liam Ridings regained the lead in the second period only for the hosts to again find a reply, this time with just a minute left.
Droitwich Seconds bounced back to record a 2-0 victory over Old Halesonians, their third win of the season.
After missed chances and saves, Simon Baines finally broke the deadlock from close range and Droitwich continued to dominate.
A swift passing move put Nick Bates clear and he coolly finished off the second goal.
Old Hales rallied during the second-half but could not find a way past the solid defence or 'keeper Neil Davies.
Confident Droitwich Thirds defeated Harborne 2-0 to improve their position just above the relegation zone.
Richard Ferley had to make a dramatic save off the line to keep Harborne out but then Wayne Brown passed to Marcus Clayton who fired home the opener.
Fine goalkeeping by Richard Crowther kept the lead intact and captain Brown blasted in a second 10 minutes from time.
