AT the October indoor meeting, the chairman read the WMB C contingency plan in the event of an Avian flu outbreak at reserves, stressing the importance of not touching the birds, securing the area, and contacting Defra.
John Robinson gave an illustrated talk on the natural history of Wyre Forest, which is being managed to restore habitats for wildlife, and has a restricted number of bird species.
Brandon Marsh was the destination for the October field meeting, where 34 species were identified, including fieldfare, snipe and a courting pair of gadwall.
On Wednesday, at St Oswald's Church Centre, Broadwaters, Kidderminster, at 7.30pm, Gerry Griffiths, of Avian Adventures, will present an illustrated talk entitled "Tropical Birds".
Non-members are always welcome at meetings.
On Sunday, November 27, the field meeting will be to Habberley Valley, meeting in the car park at 10am.
