A KIDDERMINSTER-based police officer chatted about road safety matters with Prince Charles as he received an MBE.
PC Julian Turner, traffic management officer with West Mercia Constabulary's North Worcestershire division, had been awarded the accolade in the Queen's Birthday Honours in June.
The Prince of Wales presented the MBE to PC Turner during an investiture at Buckingham Palace at the end of last month.
Based at Kidderminster Police Station, PC Turner, 47, is a father-of-two from Bewdley, who has been in the police for 25 years.
The award recognised work done by police in North Worcestershire with partner organisations including Worcestershire County Council's accident studies team and various highways departments to save lives by improving roads.
PC Turner said: "The Prince chatted to me for several minutes, talking about how the intervention of road safety engineering and design reduces the number of collisions and saves lives and he made some very thoughtful and intelligent observations."
He added: "It was an incredible day which I enjoyed immensely."
