HARRY Potter fans will be flocking to The Warehouse Cinema for a 24-hour marathon to celebrate the release of the new film tomorrow.
The fourth film in the series, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, is released across the country tomorrow and the cinema in Green Street, Kidderminster, is one of the first outside London to screen the film at 00.05am. There will be additional screenings at 3.15am, 6.30am, 10am, 2pm, 4.15pm, 6pm and 8pm as part of the marathon.
Owner, Simon Swaffield, said it was "a fantastic event" for the cinema and for the town, adding: "It is bringing Kidderminster to the forefront of the industry. Our concern has always been that we wouldn't get the first run films but, hopefully, we have shown over the last five or six months that we can. The other worry was capacity but we are combating that by going through the night."
Cinema manager, Alex Cornforth, said: "It is something a little bit different. With cinemas you have got to stick to a rigid formula but opening at this time gives us more freedom."
Mr Swaffield added: "It is a real family event. It is a very grown up Harry Potter so it is one adults might like to see."
Mr Swaffield added the cinema was also finalising plans for a Wyre Forest Film Festival, which would be held in February.
