DRIVERS have been warned to make sure their vehicles are ready to cope with wintry weather.
North Worcestershire police traffic management officer, PC Julian Turner, said: Although it has been a mild autumn, we are now into November.
"The British weather is unpredictable and bad weather can strike suddenly, so this is the time to get prepared."
Police advice for drivers includes keeping their vehicles well maintained and serviced, making sure batteries are fully charged and that wipers and lights are in good working order.
They should also add anti-freeze to the radiator and winter additive to the windscreen washer bottle.
PC Turner added: "Winter driving can be a challenge but a few simple precautions can improve safety, not only for the driver, but for other road users."
