MEASURES introduced to clamp down on anti-social behaviour are failing to solve the roblem, according to a worried city resident.
Thugs are making the life of Jackie Barry so miserable, that she is considering moving from Humber Road in Ronkswood, Worcester.
"I have never complained or challenged any of these yobs, but the time has come for someone to make a stand," she said.
Mrs Barry said that a Section 30 Dispersal Order, giving police additional powers to disperse groups of troublemakers, placed on the area in July has not solved the problem.
It comes as a second Section 30 was placed on another part of Ronk-swood, as reported in the Worcester News yesterday.
The police insist that the curfew orders do work. But Mrs Barry - a 47-year-old debt collector - said vandals, who frequently congregate on land near her home, caused hundreds of pounds damage to her car when a bike, which was thrown over the fence landed on the vehicle.
"I work damn hard to pay my way in this world, but it seems that if you live in Humber Road, you can't have anything nice, for fear that these yobs will damage it," she said. "I do not think the order is effective.
"The police cannot be here 24 hours a day, so who is going to enforce it?
"We are thinking about moving now - it's grotty and dirty because of all the rubbish and mess that is left behind."
She said that since the order was introduced, youths have continued to speed past on mini motorbikes, set off fireworks and litter her garden.
It continued the misery she experienced before the order was introduced, when vandals threw a brick through her window, covering her granddaughter's cot in glass.
But Anti-Social Behaviour Co-ordinator for the South Worcestershire Community Safety Partnership, Serg-eant Chris Allen said: "This Section 30 has had a dramatic calming effect on the Medway Estate area.
"The figures support that, but if members of the community are still experiencing isolated incidents, and if they are not reporting them then we can't respond to them."
The story follows yesterday's article, about the launch of a new campaign called Putting the Heart Back into the Community.
Yesterday saw the start of another Section 30 Dispersal Order, on land around Canterbury Road and Lichfield Avenue.
