People are being offered the chance to save money, paper and time this Christmas by sending seasons greetings in an eco-friendly way that will also help St Richard's Hospice in Worcester.

Office workers, community organisations, clubs, schools and other groups are being urged to sign up for the St Richard's Christmas Poster initiative.

Fund-raising Assistant Joanna Street said: "This is a great way to save paper, time and money by writing your seasonal messages to friends and colleagues on one of our giant Christmas card posters.

"And if you make a donation to the hospice your money will help us care for patients and their families in South Worcestershire who are living with cancer and other life-threatening illness."

St Richard's has served the community for 21 years, and in addition to its 60 staff, there are 600 volunteers, many of whom are specially trained to care for patients.

All its services are free and include a Day Hospice; Home Care Team; Bereavement, Social Work, Family Therapy and Counselling Service; 24-hour on call advice line and the Snowdrop Group for young women living with cancer.

Building work has recently started on the new St Richard's Hospice near County Hall, Worcester and campaigners are working to raise the remaining £250,000 needed to complete the Building Beds Together campaign.

Last year, 100 firms signed up for the poster, raising over £4,200 for the hospice.
