WEST Bromwich Albion are launching a pilot coach scheme to make it easier for current fans and potential new supporters living in outlying areas to attend Hawthorns matches.
The new executive coach service will first run to the Everton game on Saturday, which kicks-off at 5.15pm, catering for fans in the Worcester and Droitwich Spa areas. Both routes will be served by a 50-seater coach and the cost to supporters is £5, which includes a free matchday programme worth £3.
Baggies finance director Mark Jenkins said: "This pilot scheme is aimed at boosting matchday attendances.
"If it is successful, we will look at extending the service to other areas.
"It follows the example set by Charlton Athletic, whose growing travel service currently comprises 40 coaches and ferries between 1,500 and 2,000 supporters to each of their home games."
Local pick-up points are Croft Road Coach Park in Worcester at 2.45pm and opposite Lido Park in Worcester Road, Droitwich, at 3.15pm.
The coaches will arrive 45 minutes before the game and depart promptly after the match from the same place.
To purchase match tickets and coach tickets, call the Hawthorns box office on 08700-662800.
