MALVERN Town lost their 12-match unbeaten Midland Alliance run when they fell 3-1 at fellow high-fliers Racing Club Warwick last night.
On a heavy pitch, Malvern were unlucky not to take the lead in the 10th minute when Nathan Jukes hit the upright.
However, within a minute, Racing Club hit the post and then took the lead on 20 minutes through James Wood.
Racing Club continued to make chances, while Malvern struggled with the conditions and 'keeper Craig Humpries made several good saves. As half-time approached, Wood added a crucial second goal.
Malvern dominated the second-half with Jukes and Darren Bullock going close but the final ball was not good enough too often.
They clawed a goal back in the 83rd minute when, following a goalmouth scramble, Dean Roberts found the net.
Malvern pressed for an equaliser but Mark Faulds broke away to score a late Warwick third.
Meanwhile, Danny Moon scored an extra-time winner as Westfields defeated Wellington 2-1 in the Herefordshire FA Senior Floodlit Cup.
Mark Davis equalised 10 minutes from time after Peter Wallace put the visitors ahead.
