WOULD it not encourage more motorists to use public transport if every bus stop could be provided with some form of shelter in which, an updated map of the area could be displayed to show local bus routes, with an indication of the times (or frequency) of buses using each stop?
Obviously, at times of lighter-than-usual traffic, some buses may arrive at intermediate stops earlier than scheduled.
However, would-be passengers could at least know roughly how long they might expect to have to wait for the next bus.
