SPARTAK continued to pursue promotion in the Midland Combination Premier Division with a comfortable 2-0 win over Pershore at home on Saturday.
Victory keeps second placed Barnt Green hot on the heels of leaders Atherstone.
Striker Kevin Brookes maintained his excellent scoring form for Spartak by collecting Lewis Baker's pass and scoring his fourth goal in three games. Baker added Spartak's second in the 60th minute, after a flowing five man move.
Striker Jae Martin made it 3-0 in the 80th minute when he latched onto Paul Smith's clearance and headed past Pershore's goalkeeper. Barnt Green also missed several other chances to score. Spartak have two matches this week to keep them on the trail for silverware.
Manager GJ Singh's side take on Division One relegation fighters Leamington Hibernian at home in the Endsleigh Challenge Cup round two on Wednesday, November 16 (7.45pm kick off).
Spartak then face leaders Atherstone at Lye Meadow in a crucial top of the table clash on Saturday, November 19 (2.45pm kick off).
Victory for Spartak would see them shoot to the top of the table.
