Redditch 6, Evesham 32pts
EVESHAM travelled to their county rivals expecting a tough game after the hosts' recent win over league leaders Upton.
Playing up the slope the visitors soon stamped their forward dominance on the game and were soon gaining ground towards the Redditch line through excellent rolling mauls.
Awarded a penalty in the Redditch 22, skipper Luke Matthews elected to kick to the corner. From the line-out, Dave Scott soared high to collect the ball and the forward rolled even closer to the line where Andy Tildesly was the man with his hands on the ball to touch down.
Matt Grove's conversion attempt drifted wide but Eve-sham soon worked their way upfield again where the backs benefited and Matt Jacques created the overlap to touch down out wide but again the conversion fell short.
Redditch's points came from a rare visit to the Evesham half that brought them two penalties.
Grove then slotted one over for the Avonsiders to complete the first half scoring and give his side a 13-6 advantage.
Evesham never looked like losing the game in the second period when they added three more tries.
The first came from Jim Mou-lton who swooped on a fumble but Mike O'Loughlin was unlucky to strike the underside of the crossbar with the kick.
Full back Grove then collected a clever crossfield kick to outsprint the cover defence with O'Loughlin this time adding the extras.
Evesham's forward dominance in the scrum was all too apparent and improving No 8 Will Bailey had time to pick up the ball at he base of the scrum, dummy scrum-half Gary Diston and then brush off two would-be tacklers to cap a good all-round performance. Again O'Loughlin added the two points.
Evesham will be hoping to carry their new-found good form into a top of the table clash with Upton on their next North Midlands South One contest.
