I FEEL immensely proud to be Worcester City's manager -- Monday night was a great, great occasion.
With so much at stake, beating Chippenham Town and securing a second round tie against Huddersfield Town ranks among the most satisfying moments in my managerial career.
I'm delighted for our supporters and everybody associated with the club, those that have stuck by City over the years through the bad times. This is for them.
Andy Morrison and myself have worked hard for this moment since we came to City. We've tri-ed to change things and improve standards, so when we struggled for results earlier in the season, it felt like we were being kicked in the teeth.
But I believe everything in life happens for a reason. When I left Bury, I was absolutely gutted, but maybe it was meant to be. Enjoying this with Worcester would otherwise have never happened.
These opportunities don't happen too often for non-league clubs. Reaching the second round and being televised is massive -- on a par with Wycombe Wanderers shocking the nation by reaching the semi-finals a few years ago.
Maybe this will never happen for us again, but we hope it will and we are working towards that. But for the time being, we should enjoy it.
The publicity for us is huge. Worcestershire CCC will always be a massive sports club and, over the last few years, Worcester Warriors have come along and been absolutely fantastic.
Both have been brilliant for Worcester, but our football club has been in the shadow. Hopefully, it won't be for too much longer.
Some people laugh at Worcester City and our ground and it hurts, because the club is a big part of Worcester. It's got tradition, history and I believe we have a bright future ahead of us.
It goes without saying that the sell-out crowd on Monday was fantastic. I've been to St George's Lane and supported the club in the past, but have never seen it that full.
For some, playing in front of a huge crowd can affect them in a slightly negative way. For me, it is only a good thing. It makes a big difference and it was great to see the place packed out.
However, I'm not too sure whether many of our supporters enjoyed the game. It took us a very long time to score that goal!
As the game went on, I knew one goal would win it. Thankfully, Adam Webster was there to score. He's scored in every round for us and he's got great quality inside the penalty box.
The sending off of Chippenham's Iain Harvey obviously played a part. They lost him, went a little bit disorganised and we took advantage.
But it should not detract from the way we played. I thought we were the better team, without playing at our best.
They had a couple of scrambles, but I felt we coped with everything they threw at us.
We have got our team foundations right now after losing Paul Carty just before the start of the season.
Des Lyttle has got stronger and stronger and Justin Thompson is settled after being in and out of the side earlier.
I'm really pleased with the back-line.
In fact, I'm delighted with the way the whole side is playing. Hopefully, we can keep this momentum going for the rest of the season.
