A PAINTER who captured the spirit of Droitwich on canvas is artist of the month at the town's library for November.
Len Bradley, aged 93, proved that like wine, artistic skill improves with age, by becoming one of the oldest artists to be featured by the library.
He has two works on display in the library, which is in Victoria Square.
One is a painting of Gurney Lane in the town centre before the new Waitrose was built on it this year. The other is of Droitwich's High Street, taken from a photo from the 1950s.
Mr Bradley said: "One photo captures an old part of the town before it changed forever this year, while the other is the High Street fifty years ago."
Originally from Birmingham Mr Bradley, a member of Studley Art Circle, took up painting when he retired from the printing business in 1978. Since then he has carved out a niche as an accomplished painter, selling and exhibiting work.
He said: "I want my work to be affordable. I think art should be enjoyed by all."
