THE 85th birthday meeting of Chaddesley Corbett WI was held in the village hall on November 2.
Vice-president Rosabelle Needham welcomed everyone to the meeting in the absence of president Barbara Maskell, who was on holiday in Peru. Rosabelle said she was looking forward to a wonderful evening and thanked the birthday committee for the lovely flowers.
Business matters were discussed, including the projected budget. Treasurer Marion Richards gave a detailed breakdown of the budget with a balance of £1,493 to be carried forward. Details of the New Year party were announced. It will be held in the village hall on Saturday, January 28. Menus were now available for members to make their choices. There would be no lunch club in December.
Rosabelle concluded the business part of the evening.
The remainder of the evening was organised by Christine Kendrick and her committee. It was a very enjoyable fun evening with games, a quiz, poetry readings, nibbles, cakes and wine. The evening ended on a splendid note with Christine herself, Jo Powick and Carol Hislop entertaining us with a WI skit. Rosabelle thanked everyone who had taken part and said how much everyone had enjoyed themselves.
The next meeting will be held at the village hall on December 7 at 7.30pm.
