WATCH out all you Lickey End landlubbers. Long John Silver and his swashbuckling, scurvy pirate crew are dropping anchor for a yarn about dark deeds and adventure on the high seas.

The Lickey End Players have been rehearsing since September for their annual panto, which this year is adapted from Robert Louis Stevenson's classic pirate tale Treasure Island.

Anne Hirschman, of the group, said: "It's a rollicking story for all the family to enjoy with songs, dance routines and lots of audience participation."

Treasure Island is being staged at Lickey End Working Men's Club in Alcester Road. There will be performances on November 24 and 25 at 7.30pm, on November 26 at 1.30pm and on November 27 with a 2pm start. Tickets are £4. With every child's ticket there will be a free bag of sweets, a drink and a choc ice.

All proceeds will be donated to Lickey End First School.

Tickets are available on the door, from the school or from the working men's club.
