Evesham Utd U-15 3,
Taunton Tn 3
THE Robins started well in Satu-rday's first leg AMROS Invitation Cup clash and they were rewarded this with an early goal from Tom Graham.
However Town equalised in an instant and, minutes later, the early dominance was in tatters as Taunton enjoyed more space and time to take the lead.
Worse was to come with a third visiting goal leaving Evesham having to battle to prevent them falling further behind at half-time.
United sorted out their areas of weakness at the break and, as Town sat back, they allowed the hosts to put them under pressure without converting any chances.
Twenty minutes from time, goalkeeper Ben Parry came up for a corner and
nearly pulled one back with a header that bounced past a post.
And, when he stayed up for another flag-kick, confusion in the Taunton box resulted in a defender handling the ball and Tom Waghorn score the penalty.
In the dying minutes United's tactic using the keeper at corners almost backfired as Taunton won possession and tried to break away.
But, in their rush they gave the ball away and Dan Trotman was played through and, after being blocked by the keeper, kept the ball at his feet and rolled it into the empty net.
Evesham Utd U-12 3,
FRESH from a hard-fought sixth place finish at the Rushden and Diamonds Cup, United took on Worcester City under the floodlights at Common Road in the Midlands Junior Premiership Cup.
Neither side was to disappoint their many supporters, but it was Elliot Grady who opened the scoring after four minutes, following in to convert Sam Ford's parried shot.
The scorer then made it 2-0 after picking up a ball inside the City half, before running firing home from the edge of the box.
Failure to clear their lines allowed City to claw one back, before they equalised in spectacular fashion on the break.
While Colin Philpott, Owen Jones, Wes Burden and Bryn Tomes were being kept busy at the back, it was the lively Grady who completed his hat trick with a stunning half-volley.
Leon Ballard made a spectacular one-handed save before a resurgent Worcester were awarded a late penalty that was converted to leave the scores level for the second leg.
Evesham Utd U-12 B 4,
L & B Badgers 2
UNITED returned to winning ways thanks to a couple of early goals from Scott Andrew and Angus Steele who benefited from a fine run from Andrew Hay.
Badgers halved the arrears but Eve-sham's two-goal cushion was restored when Josh Greaves netted from close-range.
The visitors made it 3-2 after the interval and only good defending from player of the match Josh Wood, Sam Penfold and Taylor Robinson prevented Badgers levelling.
When another goal did arrive it was in the visitors' net with Steele wrapping up Evesham's win with a penalty after Dan Wilcox had been tripped.
Malvern Tn Wdrs 3,
Evesham Utd Robins U-12 5
A LACK of match action saw Robins concede twice early on but they got back into the game when Tom Barrett's shot was spilled and Adam Boycott netted the rebound.
It was 2-2 when Bradley Grinnall scored soon after the interval but Malvern then netted a third to leave United with plenty to do.
They responded superbly and, after Josh Downey had equalised, Evesham scored the game's final two goals with Downey netting a penalty and Joel Hancock firing in his side's fifth.
Broadway U-10 7, Ilmington 1
BROADWAY continued their fine season with a comfortable win.
Nathan Griffin and Mike Harris both netted twice, while Jamie Hargreaves, Jack Witts and Jack Perks were also on target before Ilmington's deserved consolation courtesy of Ollie Wilson.
Inkberrow Eagles 0,
Badsey Rgrs U-10 15
IT TOOK rampant Rangers just two minutes to open the floodgates with Scott Southern the scorer.
The player of the match went on to score a hat-trick including the goal of the game in the second half.
It was 8-0 at half-time and Badsey just failed to match that tally after the break when they proved far too strong for their plucky hosts.
Ryan Dixon found the net four times, Matty Andrew matched Southern's tally with the other goals coming from Will Gillette, Jacob Phipps, Callum Grieve, Joe Gisbourne and Alex Jones.
Badsey Rgrs U-11 4,
Swindon Village Bowmen B 4
BADSEY'S new-found confidence was fully tested in a pulsating clash with last season's C & G champions.
Rangers fell behind in the first minute and it was 2-0 after ten minutes following more sloppy defending.
However, James Schembri's stunning drive reduced the deficit but a static Badsey rearguard then let Swindon in for a third just before the break.
A Jack Milward corner flew straight into the net to give Rangers hope and Nick Remfry made the match all-square with a shot under the goalkeeper.
Badsey were now on top and several chances went begging before David Stanley made it 4-3.
The lead wasn't to last as the unbeaten Bowmen underlined their champion standing when they scored an equaliser in the final minute.
Kempsey 0, Evesham Utd U-11 7
SAM Goodhall banged in a hat-trick inside the opening two minutes as Evesham made a flying start.
There was more bad news for the beleaguered hosts who found themselves trailing by six goals at half-time following further strikes from Goodhall, Ben Scarrott and Gareth Dee.
United reshuffled their ranks at the interval and that, allied to an improved Kempsey showing, restricted United to just one second half goal when Scarrot again found the target.
Goalkeeper Carl Innes kept his fourth clean sheet of the season as Evesham cemented their position at the top of the Mercian Festival Junior League.
Evesham Utd U-12 Girls 4,
Bredon 2
A HARD-FOUGHT game was decided courtesy of some excellent finishing from Emily Taylor, Eloise Grant, Hea-ther Colls and Victoria Snape.
Some good industry in the first half put the opposition under pressure and generally the game was one-way traffic.
Evesham's strength and commitment proved invaluable in the closing stages when the winners netted twice to see off their gutsy rivals and move United up to third in the league table.
