COMPETITORS were greeted by miserable weather for the first meeting of the month at Throckmorton Clay Pigeon Shooting Club and only the keenest were willing to brave the elements and attempt a good score on the layouts.
On the Down the Line discipline, only four cards were completed. Brian King and Robert Haines were the first to reach the 20-bird target, while Alf Symmonds kept the pressure on the front-runners by also scoring 20 while managing to scrape one extra point.
Roy Spooner then topped that effort, however, it was Sandra Langrish who emerged victorious.
