A BOOK has been published on the life and career of the Redditch-born music legend John Bonham.

John Bonham - The Powerhouse Behind Led Zeppelin was compiled by John's brother, Mick, who died suddenly in January 2000, aged just 49.

He had just completed the first re-write of the biography.

Mick's wife Linda, sister Debbie Bonham and two friends decided to keep the book as her husband had written it before his death.

She said it was not only a tribute to the Led Zeppelin drummer but also to Mick, whose main reason for writing it was to share the truth about his brother and dispel myths and rumour which had previously been circulated.

John Bonham died in tragic circumstances 25 years ago and two months after his death, Zeppelin bandmates Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones said they could never replace him and therefore the band could not continue.

After nine multi-million selling albums and record breaking world tours, Led Zeppelin came to an abrupt end.

John Bonham - The Powerhouse Behind Led Zeppelin, which is packed full of photos of John, his family and the band, costs £12.99, has been published by Southbank Publishing and is available from all good bookshops and internet book sellers.
