I WOULD like to take this opportunity to respond to Julie Robinson's complaint regarding the car park lifts in the Kingfisher Centre (Letters, November 9).
In particular Mrs Robinson states: "I have tried to contact the centre via their website but that does not work either (should I be surprised?)".
We did indeed receive the e-mail sent by Mrs Robinson late on Friday evening via our website and responded by telephone on the next working day - Monday, November 7.
I would therefore have to disagree with Mrs Robinson's statement that it ''does not work''.
In respect of the car parks, we are all too aware of the work that is needed.
However, we are investing heavily in a programme of works to improve the lifts from the car parks into the centre.
The sheer scale of the work involved and the funds being invested mean these type of improvements do not happen overnight.
The current lift replacement programme for car parks 2 and 3 alone costs half a million pounds and is due to be completed early next year.
I would like to reassure all our customers that we make every effort to alleviate any potential problems with access to the centre and I hope they will bear with us while we make these improvements.
